Pres. Jim Austin opened the Chapter 800 meeting at the H.A.W.K. hangar at 10:20.
- Sec. Sterling Hurst read Minutes of the June meeting and Ken Hurt gave
the chapter’s current Treasurer’s report: savings - $2525.48,
and checking - $2810.43. Both the minutes and treasurer’s reports were
approved as given.
- Randy Owen will be responsible for keeping track of the present and
future Ray Foundation Scholarship money. At present, there is $4,000.
- Members were reminded of the Memorial for Graham Meyer on August 1
at 10:00 AM in his hangar at Blake Field, Delta. A sympathy card was
available for the family of long time member Ray Guziak, who died in July.
- Bruce Erickson mentioned that he had decided on the 40’ wing span on
the motor glider rather than the 50’, mainly because of the hangar size
required.
- HAWK member, Krista J., has volunteered to prepare a taco bar for our
August meeting.
- Jim Austin reported that Warren Weiner of Nucla has a hangar for sale for
$50,000. Contact info: wsweiner1@gmail.com (preferred), 801-809-3442 cell.
- Jim reported that an anonymous donor had given us a projector. Now we
can view some of the programs that EAA headquarters provides.
- Also, several hats were given away as door prizes.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 to hangar talk and lunch prepared by Ken &
Jeri Hurt.
The next chapter 800 meeting will be Saturday, August 15, at 10 AM.
