EAA 800 Meeting Minutes

President Kim Neibauer called the meeting to order at 10:50 AM with 30 present. Guests included: Scott Stafford and sons Jack and Garrett; Vance Franks, EAA member since ‘72; Jim Austin, EAA member since ’77 -- building an RV9; Steve Chaffin who lives on 9 Rd; Hugh Sontag flew his push prop plane down from Rifle. It was good to see former members and past presidents Lane and Syndi Jochums and their daughter Amanda. Lane is selling his build project.

• Treasurer Ken Hurt reported $25.01 in savings and $5171.16 in checking still. Ken did not deposit the July food donation of $1.00! [FYI: A donation of $2/person eating should be considered a minimum PLUS extra for any canned or bottled beverages you consume. Our monthly meeting food is not considered a fund raiser, it is a convenience to those who stay and eat. HOWEVER, we need to cover costs.] Half of the funds in checking will be put in a savings account now that Oshkosh is over.

• Secretary Sterling Hurst read the July minutes which were approved as read.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Young Eagles Coordinator, Michelle Hobbs, has set our YE day for Oct. 12 with a rain day of Oct. 19 Several of the pilots present said they would be prepared to fly kids.

PROGRAM: OSHKOSH REPORT

• A continuous slideshow of photos from Oshkosh attendees ran in the classroom for all to see. A significant one was of “The Eddie Clements Memorial” brick in front of the Brown Arch.
• Several HAWK members and EAA 800 members: HAWKS Ryan Allen, Britton Hovland, Logan Boe, & William McGlochlin as well as EAA 800 members Shay Boe, Bruce Erickson & Sterling Hurst each spoke about some highlights of AirVenture 2019.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:35 for Brats & Burgers. Thanks to the Hurts, especially during harvest!
