The meeting was called to order by Vice Pres. Bryan Miller at 10:30 AM.
Two guests were present: HAWK William McLoughlin’s Grandma, Diana Reed from Paonia and CFI Stacy Dollar from Grand Junction.
August meeting minutes were read by Sterling Hurst and were approved by the members.
Treasurer Ken Hurt reported a balance of $3,940.77 in checking, and $25.01, savings. Ken commended members for donations for our food and drinks increasing and now covering costs! Treasurer’s report was approved by the members.
HAWK kids’ presentations at Eddie’s memorial were greatly appreciated. They comported themselves well.
There was discussion about sharing in purchase of an Eddie Clements memorial brick for Oshkosh to be laid near the Brown Arch. Bryan Miller moved that EAA 800 contribute 1/3 the cost of a $1000 brick, along with HAWK and the Clements family. Sterling Hurst seconded, and those present voted in favor of the motion.
Sterling passed along a recommendation from Steve Lindemann, our Webmaster: For approximately $5 per month, he could change our site host, improve our EAA 800 website with more photos, and a YE registration site that works. Ken Hurt moved that we give him the go ahead. The motion was seconded and approved.
Michelle Hobbs, Young Eagle Coordinator stated that the insurance for our planned YE day was ready to go, and asked for people to sign up for various duties on the clipboards up front
Bryan Miller gave a rundown of upcoming dates and local aviation news items:
HAWK members had their RC airplanes on display and had their contests at 21 ˝ & F Rd after lunch.
Meeting adjourned at 11:20 am for another delicious lunch prepared by the Hurts.
