There was no May EAA800 Meeting; all members then present enjoyed and participated by serving for the Annual Fat Tire Jamboree at Mack Mesa Airport.
Piper Cherokee N9606W was delivered by Sterling & Nancy Hurst from WestStar Aviation just before this meeting to be greatly admired. The donated paint job on the Cherokee, by West Star, is truly beautiful and professional. HAWK Aviators now have a brand new 1968 PA-28 Cherokee!
The meeting was opened by President Kim Neibauer at 10:30 am, 20 members present.
Treasurer Ken Hurt reported $1,969.36 in checking and $25.01 in savings. EAA800 and HAWK profited $126 from the Jamboree, the split to be determined later. We still have a supply of calendars, now on sale for $5. Buy now!
Oct. 7th will be the planned Young Eagles Day, at Mack Mesa.
There will be 6 or 7 young HAWK Aviators who will attend AirVenture 2017, plus adults, 1 or 2 ground vehichles, and 4 airplanes. Eddie is arranging valuable activities for our youth while there. The ground convoy intends to leave Saturday morning, July 22nd.
Balloon Pilot Eddie Clements commented it is still questionable whether we will take the balloon to Oshkosh or not. Russel Frank has purchaced a CallAir (Ag) airplane for glider tow.
The next EAA800 meeting will be Sat., July 15, 2017, 10am.
Meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am, just as Herman & Jean Allmaras arrived.
