EAA 800 Meeting Minutes
18 August 2012

The meeting was called to order at 10:20AM by the President, Lane Jochums in the EAA Hanger at Mack Mesa Airport.

The minutes for the July Meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer reported that we have $1462.01 in the account.

Guests in attendance were:

• Norm Masters. Norm is a physicist and aerodynamicist.
• Adam Callow is a helicopter instructor pilot.

There was discussion on setting up an EAA 800 Booth at the Grand Junction Airshow in September. However, after discussing the pros and cons of our participation, it was decided by the members present that it was not in our best interest to participate.

Syndi discussed the upcoming Young Eagles Day on 29 September. If you know of YE's that would like to fly, direct them to our website to fill out an application. The rain date will be 13 October 2012. Pilots and ground crew that will be available should contact Syndi as soon as possible to get on her list.

The September Meeting will be held on Saturday, 15 September.

Adam Callow gave an interesting discussion of helicopter operations at uncontrolled airports and the issues that occur when aircraft and helicopters share the same airspace.
