The meeting was called to order at 10:15 AM by the President, Jay Scheevel in Dag's Hanger at GJT.
The minutes from the July meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer reported that there was approximately $1300 in the account.
Several visitors were introduced:
Jay talked about the John McConnell Math and Science Center in Grand Junction. There were over 9000 kids that visited it last year. The Chapter will investigate preparing a display for EAA Activities especially Young Eagles opportunities.
Don Coleman gave a short talk on his visit to Oshkosh this summer. It was a very wet start to the week and most were calling it Osh-slosh !
The business meeting was closed and Jay introduced Carol Ann Garrett from Ocala, Florida who discussed her second around the world flight in a Mooney to raise money and awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Carol Ann described the modifications she made to the airplane, the preparations for the trip, the route and the trip itself. After the briefing she had her book available for purchase and signing. The Mooney she used for the trip was parked on the ramp for members to see.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 for hamburgers and hot dogs.
