The meeting was called to order at 10:25 AM by the President, Jay Schveel in Dag's Hanger at GJT.
The minutes from the June meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer reported that we have $1330.66 in the account.
Certificates for helping on Young Eagles Day were passed out to the ground crew volunteers.
It was announced that Don Coleman is now the Head Judge for Antiques at Oshkosh.
The August meeting will feature Carol Ann Garrett from Ocala, Florida who will give a presentation on her around the world in 7 days flight in a Mooney to raise money for ALS. Her book will be available to purchase at the meeting. Jay noted that the Chapter will purchase a copy for our library.
One visitor was introduced: Dean Cunday is an intern at the GJT tower. He is a private pilot with about 100 hrs in Cessna 152 and 172's. He is from the Los Angeles area. He will be at the Tower through October.
Syndi Jokums said that Lane was back in Iraq and would be there for either three weeks or a year and three weeks. His email is: papabug13@gmail.com. She also asked that anyone who has experience with "homebuilt" landing strips to please give her a call. They are putting in a strip on their property.
The east end of the Mack runway has been lengthened by 1500 feet in grass. It is NOT yet available for use.
Jay committed to "gluing" the wings on his Q2 this summer. A more detailed report will be coming soon.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM to inspect Bill Marvel's Zeneith 801 in a nearby hanger. Pictures are attached.
