EAA 800 Meeting Minutes
20 March 2010

The meeting was called to order by the Vice President, Dennis Crawford at 10:20 AM in Dag's Hanger at GJT.

The minutes from the February meeting were read and approved.

Since Ray was not present, Dennis reported that we had approximately $1330 in our account.

There were no guests in attendance.

Steve Lindemann discussed the upcoming Young Eagles Day on 22 May (Rain Day one week later). Volunteers are needed for both flight and ground crews. Several items were discussed as possible activities for the kids while they are waiting to fly. Nancy inquired into getting a computer and printer onsite to print the Certificates instead of doing them by hand. Mike Stolle has an old lap top that might work. He will get Steve the specs on the lap top to see if it can be used.

There was no formal program for this meeting, so there was plenty of time for members to discuss where they are on their airplane projects. In the course of the discussions, it was suggested that the Chapter attempt to find a projector that will project from a lap top computer. That would open up a lot of interesting presentations that we can't do now. Some suggested that getting a used one may not be too expensive.

Randy Owen discussed his Zenith 701 project. Randy volunteered to host the April meeting at his house in the Redlands where he is building the airplane.

Bob Trumpfheller talked about the process of making his new nose wheel pant from scratch. He discussed some of the intricacies' of working with Kevlar and fiberglass.

Graham Meyer announced that the next Montrose Chapter meeting will be at his workshop in Cederedge 0n April 3rd at 10 AM. The topic is "Airplane Wiring". All are invited. A map to his workshop will be posted on the Montrose website which is linked to ours.

Kim Woynowskie announced that his father Ed is having a 99th birthday celebration at Coffee Muggers (7th and Main) on April 10th from 1 to 3 PM. All are welcome to come and wish Ed a Happy Birthday.

Dennis closed the meeting for lunch at 11:40 AM by handing out copies of the RV Flyer Newsletter and an FAA Safety Briefing.
