EAA 800 Meeting Minutes
20 January 2007

The meeting was called to order by Dennis Crawford at 10:15 AM in Dag's hangar.

Mike Stolle read the minutes of the December meeting that was held at the Golden Corral in Grand Junction.

The Financial report stated that there was approximately $1800 in the account after paying our yearly dues/insurance to EAA ($227) and $600 to the EAA Academy for Clarissa Webb.

Guests in attendance were introduced. Bill Marvel from California moved to GJ in August 2006, has an RV-8, and is thinking about building an RV-10. Bill is also an A&P and an IA. Chris Durham is with the Fruita police, lives in GJ, and is building a Bearhawk.

Dennis and Sterling discussed our nomination and sponsor of Clarissa Webb to the EAA Air Academy this summer. Clarissa will be in attendance at our February meeting. A slot for her has been reserved in the July 8-12, 2007 class in the 12-13 age bracket. An application has been obtained from the EAA that is being filled out and signed by Clarissa's father. Ideas were discussed for fund raising to defer some of the expenses. Ideas submitted included an "Airplane Wash" or providing concessions on days that we fly Young Eagles.

Sterling asked if there was going to be an Airshow in GJ this summer and the concensus was that there would not be an airshow since it is a biennial event.

Dennis discussed getting name tags for EAA 800 members. The cost for a 3" X 1" name tag with the EAA logo is $4.95. Several members mentioned the importance of a good pin/clasp and several types were discussed......pins, magnetic. Dennis will try to get samples of the tags to inspect at the next meeting.

Aircraft Spruce sent our Chapter seven copies of their new catalog and they were picked up by members after the meeting.

An area to share flying magazines among members was discussed and an area in Dag's hangar will be set up to store EAA equipment and share magazines.

Dennis passed out copies of a letter to all members asking for inputs on what we would like to see at future meetings. Members were encouraged to submit their ideas to Dennis by email, phone or in writing.

Sterling sent around the Membership Roster and asked everyone to update their personal information.

Dennis asked Steve Lindemann to get with Scott Doughty as soon as possible to transfer Website management. Steve will do that soon.

A discussion of member projects and good aviation websites was the final item for this meeting. recommended websites are:
